CEREC Crowns, Inlays, & Onlays
CEREC, an acronym for Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic, has revolutionized crowns, inlays, and onlays. Without CEREC, getting a crown requires several trips to the dentist. Then, a temporary crown is placed while your permanent crowns are being made.
CEREC requires only one appointment for the placement of crowns, inlays, or onlays. The in-office milling unit incorporates 3D imaging and CAD/CAM technology to create custom crowns, crafted from durable esthetic porcelain. With a CEREC restoration, your teeth will look and feel completely natural.
What are inlays and onlays? Custom made of porcelain, inlays and onlays are stronger and tougher than fillings. We may recommend them to replace old, large fillings or to repair a tooth with damage too large for a filling, yet not considerable enough to warrant a full crown. Like other porcelain dental materials, inlays and onlays match your teeth’s color for a natural appearance. As with crowns, inlays and onlays can be crafted with CEREC technology and require no special at-home dental care. Brushing, flossing, and regular check-ups preserve inlays and onlays.
Call today for a consultation with Dr. Wright or Dr. Heron. We offer convenient CEREC restorations for busy Southlake, Grapevine, Keller, and Colleyville patients like you!
